Where it all Began

A little insight into my life and the journey to opening KCreates4U

ABout Kylie

Unbeknownst to me, I had lived with Narcolepsy Type 1 since I was 15. Raising 3 kids as a single Mum, it wasn't until i turned 40 I was finally diagnosed. 

​

This was a huge turning point in my life and especially for my creativity - with Lifestyle changes and medication, my mind finally "woke-up" and my creative side joined the party. 

​

Over this period I worked in Aged Care beginning with Community Worker, Residential Lifestyle Carer and lastly as an Operations Manager. 

​

It wasn't until my Mum passed away suddenly, in 2023, that I realised after 10 years working in Aged Care, I was no longer happy and resigned last year, 2024. She had been my biggest supporter in life and it finally made sense to take the leap with my love of creating into my own business. 

​

With the support of my Sister (who is now living HER dream in UK) , my beautiful grown Kids, their partners and 2 cheeky grandkids, im finally there.......... Welcome to Kcreates4U!!

The BEGINNING
Of an idea

I really started to explore my Creative side 11 years ago. It began with card making and quickly developed into the need for a Craft room, where I now love to use mixed media products in my art journal, plus dabbling in vintage journaling. Then I began my woodworking journey almost 5 years ago - this opened the door to so many possibilities and visions which grew into the dream of doing what I love full-time. Ive had a few people say to me over the years "but it's just a hobby". Perhaps - but how amazing would it be to work on your "hobby" each day. So, with bursts of procrastination and niggling doubts along the way which my wonderful support group (my sister and kids) kicked to the curb, ive finally taken the leap.
